Steve Hutchison
xx xx, xxxx - xx xx, xxxx
Although quiet and unassuming, Steve was incisively sharp and quick-witted, a voracious reader and board game enthusiast, multiple sports fanatic, as well as being a life-long Partick Thistle supporter and Bob Dylan aficionado. Most of all he was the most loving dad and husband, whose wisdom and gentle humour will be missed every day. As Steve's funeral is being held in Cyprus and it may not be possible for you to attend, Eileen, Ceirah & Kellen would truly appreciate you sharing any memories, stories, photos or messages in the condolence section below that you may have of Steve. If you would like to upload a picture/ memory then you will need to register. Please visit the condolence section if you do not wish to register.

Eileen, I have been living under a rock and did not know of Steve's passing until now. I am so sorry for your loss and that pain will never go away. I regret not getting to know Steve better but cherish the years spent learning from him. Steve and James have always been my role models in business - everything I know now I owe to them. Hugs to you and your daughters.

We always remember Steve as an utter gentleman. He was always hospitable and a pleasure to spend time with. Great memories of his big birthday party with washing hanging in the garden and everyone having a blast. He will be sorely missed.

My thoughts are with you Eileen, Ceirah and Kellen as I remember the many good times with Steve, playing tennis at the Wanderers, weekends at the hut and the far too 'many to mention' parties in the 'good old Sharjah days'. Steve was such a kind and caring person who was always there ready to give a helping hand and words of encouragement when necessary. But it is his smile that I will always remember which came from the heart.

The Hutchisons have and always will be a constant in my life, part of my extended family and present at every occasion. It is very hard to believe that Steve is no longer with us. For me, he will always be there at the end of the Christmas table in Sharjah, wearing a Christmas hat and a cheeky smile. Clever, witty and uniquely reassuring. See you next time Steve!

The Hutchisons were such a large part of my time in the UAE- I know that Steve will be missed by so many who are, as I am, lucky to have known him. I have memories of attempting to do a crossword with him after a classic sleepover whilst friends ran on the VHS and Eileen made pancakes. The most hilarious event that has always stuck with me was when we were driving back from Hamriyah in the Jeep Cherokee and smoke started billowing out of the bonnet. Time and nostalgia for those halcyon days may have magnified it in to a full blown fire but nevertheless I remember rolling around laughing with Kellen and Seren as Steve attempted some quick mechanical fix on the side of the road- I'm sure we were of little use. Thinking of you all today and sending virtual love and hugs. J xxx

I like the way your sparkling earrings lay Against your skin so brown And I want to sleep with you in the desert night With a billion stars all around 'Cause I got a peaceful easy feelin' And I know you won't let me down 'Cause I'm already standin' On the ground And I found out a long time ago What a woman can do to your soul Aw but she can't take you any way You don't already know how to go And I got a peaceful easy feelin' And I know you won't let me down 'Cause I'm already standin' On the ground I get this feelin' I may know you As a lover and a friend This voice keeps whisperin' in my other ear Tells me I may never see you again 'Cause I get a peaceful easy feelin' And I know you won't let me down 'Cause I'm already standin' I'm already standin' Yes, I'm already standin' On the ground Sure he would have wanted you girls to be as happy as possible and will be watching down on all the antics that you have in store, chuckling away to himself with twinkly eyes. xxx

Such a lovely, warm, kind man, who just did his own thing (and, I'm happy to say, was encouragingly grumpy enough to keep him interesting - did you really want to tangle with him?). A very real, whole, lovely person. Loved the twinkle in his eyes and how they crinkled up, and his indirect, dry and sometimes caustic humour. Always up for a good time (when he wasn't watching football anyway) but steady, gentle and kind. I'm repeating myself. I'm thinking fish lunches in Rafina, Greece, him driving home in a van and sending Eileen and me into the winery to wheedle bottles of wine out of the guys left in charge on a closed bank holiday. I'm thinking breakfast in the Athens Hilton, which was pushing the boat out back then, after an all nighter on the town, where we had endless cups of coffee and Steve was still cracking jokes and looking way fresher than the rest of us. I'm thinking amazing hospitality and chauffeuring and thoughtfulness in Cyprus. What a loss. So hard to take it in. So much love to Eileen, Ceirah and Kellen xxx
