Shirley Hamil

This is just such terribly sad news. Not only was Shirley the fount of all knowledge about elections, but she also never did not have a smile on her face. A classy, elegant lady - and a kind and gentle soul. She will be really missed by all of her colleagues - professionally and personally

So so sad to hear of the sudden and untimely passing of Shirley who was a wonderful work colleague and friend. I have many fond memories of working with Shirley in Hackney especially on elections. She was such a hard and dedicated worker and took such pride in everything she did ensuring that every election went smoothly and always took time to check in with staff. Shirley was always cheerful and never had a cross word to say about anyone and always was so professional and caring. Shirley was a very special person , she was one of those people who you instantly like from the moment you meet , she was kind , warm and committed to do a great job by residents . I was so very sad and shocked to hear of Shirley’s passing. It was a privilege to have known her and to have worked with her during many elections at Hackney. My abiding memory will be of a wonderful woman who was kind, positive, who went the extra mile in everything she did and always smiling.
