Sheila Westall

Sheila was a very special person and I know she will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. When I became president of Yarnton WI, Sheila was always there to encourage me and guide me when I needed help. We shared a love of craft and I’ll miss our sessions of beading in her conservatory,or amazing workroom. RIP Sheila

Sheila was a very dear friend and I've known her for many years. When my husband Ivor died in 1997 she was so loving and kind and supporting, phoning and visiting me making sure I was ok and she never stopped in all those years. Whenever I saw her she would put her arms out and give me a big hug and kiss. She was a truly amazing lady and I am very proud to have known her. I will miss her so much

I moved to Yarnton 3 years ago to live close to my daughter and granddaughters. I had been encouraged to meet Sheila and join the WI which was something I had never considered. Sheila immediately made me feel welcomed and comfortable and so I took on various responsibilities with her support. My fondest memory is of a socially distant Scrabble match in her beautiful garden in the sunshine last summer. I will especially miss Sheila as she was the only person who could beat me! I will miss her kindness, encouragement and support. Thank you for allowing us to join the family at her funeral service.

I was very saddened to hear that Sheila had passed away. I knew Sheila through our IFE work with OFWI. She was an inspiration to all. Her wealth of financial knowledge was incredible but always willing to share her IFE experiences with fellow IFEs. Her smile lite up all our meetings. She will be so sadly missed. RIP

I moved to Yarnton in 1978 and met Sheila in 1979 when I joined the WI. A group of us were in the Darts team and would meet in Sheila and Michaels garage to practise. What fun we had and when a group of us practised in there for two Oxfordshire Arts Events Sheila would make the tea and coffee for us. Such a kind and generous person. Generous with her help, time and support to so many of us. Always interested in our children and latterly our grandchildren. Family was everything to Sheila. She will be greatly missed. I send my best wishes to Michael and family.

I first met Sheila quite a longtime ago when, as a WI Treasurer, I took the Accounts to her to be audited. She was very thorough, but helpful and encouraging. Later, when I trained as an IFE, we met regularly and I realised just what an expert she was. We had many talks about hobbies and I could see that her attention to detail was reflected in the beautiful handwork she produced. We will all miss her.

I have only known Sheila for a comparative short time but will miss her welcoming smile and her valuable WI finance experience.
