Samson Oluyemi Shoyoye

SAMSON OLUYEMI SHOYOYE, Esq, Barrister-At-Law (26th June, 1974 - 19th November, 2018) LL. B (Hons.) OAU, Ile-Ife, B. L. We cannot begin to express how grateful we are to God for all that Samson Oluyemi Shoyoye meant to us. A deeply loved Father and Husband. A devoted brother, uncle and cousin. A friend that stuck closer than a brother, a valued colleague, a Christ Lover and an encourager. He was a brilliant lawyer and lived a life of impact. His last few days were marked with a deep sense of thankfulness and giving to those around him and to God. We are not surprised by this, as he was a man of deep faith, enormous grace and overflowing kindness. Samson has completed his race here on earth, but lives on in our hearts. Yet more comforting is the knowing that he now rests with his Lord and saviour.

Bro. Yemi We agreed on one thing (among many) - that Sept. 8th was perhaps the best date known on the calendar. You were one, I always longed to see in Church - honourable, respectful, wise, jovial, mischievous, humorous, softly-disposed, handsome and God-fearing. You catered and cared - budding the node of an expanded family, in your own environ. - Ever volunteering; ever learning; ever faithful. Though teary our eyes, in hope enlivened! Had death known You'd in any which way won Surely would not have dared touch you Had death known Your memory was blessed Would never have bugged you Had death known It ain't a finality Would have spared you Its sudden call Had death known The fondness all shared Would have shrunk back At the thought to hurt you Had death been able to look Right beyond your 'vail' Would have seen you ecstasic In Glory right now Had death known You'd forever live In the hearts and minds Of diverse alike Would rather have opted To perhaps, leave you be "Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave where is thy victory .... " - our soon-to-actualise saying in Christ! Adieu, brother and friend We'd all later meet To never part no more.

Bro Yemi, you were our brother and friend, our comedian in CLCC family, yet gentle and easygoing,I usually look forward to those times you take announcements in church cos of your humourous nature, the front row seat in church will miss you, everyone in church is deeply pained and hurt by your demise,we love you even in death and you will continue to live in our heart, we take solace in God that where you are,is better than where we are!

Kabiyesi! As you were called by me. Drama HoD. Words are hard. Thank you for knowing Jesus as Lord. That's the only thing that consoles me now: you are with the Lord. Sleep, we shall yet again see on that day.

My dear and beloved brother from another womb, 'lawyer ni mi' like I always call you. I can't and refuse to come to terms that you've gone. I couldn't stop crying each time I think about the fact that you're no more in this side of eternity with us. I couldn't FAULT YOU in anything since I have known you. You were such a reliable, lovely, jovial, selfless and caring brother I will forever miss. I remember those years we were together in 'Tokotaya house'. The love we shared together as one big family in just one room and a parlour, eating from one same pot, how can I forget all that? Your calmed nature taught me many things, even in the heat of situations, you stayed calmed and will always smile showing your dimples. You were the only one I could share my concern with about my brother Olukayu of all his friends and you have always been positive about the whole thing, telling me 'sister me e ma worry' Kayode will be alright'. I will hold on unto God on those words. If I am in this state, I wouldn't know how your wife and children will cope without you, but one thing is certain, God knows the best and He will surely carry them through and sort them out. It is well with Temitope and the children. Good night brother and sleep on in the bosom of the Lord.
