Roy Francis was a stalwart of the community in Piparo and was well known for his volunteer work in the Village. As a 30+ year veteran at FedChem (now Yara), he built a strong reputation for 'telling it as it is', and is well respected by his peers. As a father, he was strict, yet ensured that his family was provided for and remains a strong presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren. As a sportsman, he played tennis for 40+ years and loved to ride his bicycle. he will be missed.

My condolences to Roy's entire family. I grew up with Roy in Piparo and always found him a pleasant and wonderful person. Always very generous. I am so glad to see that he was a constant contributor to the Piparo community. May he rest in peace.

Roy has been a staple of the Piparo RC Community as well as the wider Community for as long as I can remember. He has been the Male lay leader of our Community since he assumed the role on the passing of his foster parents, Mr and Mrs. Headley Francis. He was a person of integrity and meticulous to a fault in all his undertakings and served as treasurer at both Church and Council level. He was quite versatile as was evident in his skill at tennis, photography and at spinning records or DJ- ing all three of which he did with great skill and consistency. He took pictures at all Church and Community functions Played music at our Church functions under the pseudonym DJ Franco and never stopped playing his tennis until the last year of his life and only because he had to take care of his wife Sybil.He was a doting husband and was happiest when he was with her. He lived both a full and fulfilling life. I am happy that I was able to spend time with both him and Sybil within recent time. Gone but not forgotten. On behalf of myself and my immediate family as well asmy brother and sisters I would like to extend condolences to Roy's Family now left behind. May God give you the strength you need and May he rest in peace.
