Richard Perry

Richard was above all else a deeply committed Christian, and was known for his constant kindness, generosity, and patience. He was enthusiastic about buses from the time he was a pupil at Kings School Canterbury, and he went on to become a diesel engineer. He studied engineering at Cambridge University before joining Rolls Royce in Shrewsbury. He then moved to Southampton to work at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research in Southampton University. He later taught engineering at Coventry University and Southampton Institute. He was involved in several bus preservation groups and owned his Leyland-Beadle coach for many years. Richard was always a keen walker, with a particular love for the Cairngorms and the Lake District.
