Ratna Sudewo

It is with great sorrow that the EU Delegation in Jakarta learned about the passing of our former colleague, Ratna Sudewo. Ratna, a former receptionist in the EU Delegation in Jakarta, passed away on 29 March 2020. She had been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 and died of complications in a hospital in Jakarta. Ratna joined the EU Delegation on 1 August 1988 and was among the first local agents recruited after the opening of the EU Delegation in Jakarta. She retired on 31 December 2014 after loyally serving the EU Delegation for 26 years. She was devoted to her work, compassionate in her relations with colleagues, and a wonderful person to work with. Our thoughts go to Ratna's two daughters - Lala and Jessy - and sons-in-law, as well as her four grandchildren in this difficult time. Many in the EU Delegation in Jakarta and throughout the EU foreign service will remember her fondly. May Ratna rest in peace.
