Ramachandra Dasari

I was at MIT in 1996/7, and I remember Ramachandra as a soft-spoken gentle support in the lab. He was always calm, helpful, positive and supportive. I am sorry for his family that he has passed away.

Ramachandra was a delightful colleague. Always thoughtful, encouraging and generous – as well as a trusted expert on a broad range of topics in spectroscopy and biomedicine. In addition to interacting with him at MIT, I had the great pleasure of visiting IIT in Kanpur with him and appreciating the extent of his influence and stature there. His passing is a great loss to us all.

I will always remember Ramachandra as a kind and thoughtful person with a great passion for science. He was a legend in the field and his legacy will live on in his work and the many students he trained. I will miss him very much.

I came to MIT in 1990 and have interacted with Ramachandra since then. I have always appreciated him as a colleague and was glad about the occasional advice and support I received from him. We will all miss him.
