Whatever the circumstances, good, bad or crazy, you always managed to find the right thing to say to make us all laugh. Thank you for the memories mate, they wont be forgotten.

Always happy to help and a smile on your face! You will be greatly missed. Taken way too soon, but I'm sure you are looking down over your little girl! I hope you are at peace. Take care Rich!

The words cant describe how sad I felt when I heard you are no longer with us. You'll be truly missed. You were a wonderful person to talk to. Your lovely smile and laughter I will not forget. Rest in Peace. Nighat

I think I'm still coming to terms with this very sad news. The most prominent thing in my mind is that I always enjoyed seeing and spending time with Rich. Whilst in Birmingham I have great memories of Monday night football at Powerleague where we created a great team, and our DfT Sports Day victory in the football. Then in latter years since Rich moved to London it was mainly when crossing paths at away days and occasionally in the office. A fine man, colleague and friend - kind, supportive, and a great sense of humour. I will miss you Rich.

In the 8 years I have worked with Richard he was always the person who wanted to make things right for everyone. He was thoughtful, always willing to listen and had a great sense of humour and fun. I’m very sad he is no longer with us, but I will always hold special memories of Richard.

From starting on the grad scheme together back in 2008, conquering Sports Day, touring Australia, camping trips, house parties, weddings - we had some great times. Still can't believe it, taken far too soon, you'll be truly missed.

"Dude....." That's exactly how I started my last whatsapp message to you in late November, its still sat there in the ether, delivered and unread. And its only fitting that I remember you as just that, the dude from up north who came to work with Paresh and me in the roads reform team - all star struck with the shiny lights about 10 years ago (Lols). I seem to recall 4 days in and we went to sports day together (playing for different footy teams), and you even came back to celebrate with my (winning) team in Pimlico that evening/night - from there we started a great friendship at work and outside of work. I'll miss our ramblings and moaning about work/life, but most of all miss your jokes and the many roll about laughs we'd have. Eva and I will keep a distant eye over your daughter for you, as she grows up around the corner from us. Will miss you mate - Chris xx

I've been putting off writing this while I try to find the right words - but they don't exist. Richard was a genuinely lovely, funny and caring man who has been taken too soon. Rest in peace Rich.
