Peter Langton

Thank you Peter and family for being a part of our lives during many happy caravanning holidays, you have given us many happy memories RIP Peter.

RIP Peter, looking back over the many holidays we had with our families when we were all younger.... one happy memory is you putting petrol on the BBQ creating more fire and smoke than my dad.... giving you the nickname Petrol Pete.....you will be sadly missed by all who have met you.... I raise a glass to you!!,

Our first encounter with Peter was at a dinner party at home, after consuming copious amounts of wine between us all, a lively debate took place which got a bit heated. So much so that Maureen insisted Peter phone and apologies the next morning. After this we wondered what we had let ourselves in for but we had no need to worry as Peter and Maureen soon become good friends. Peter was a generous man and loved to host a good party himself never happier than stood at the BBQ . At the annual house party he always managed to find the house without a satnav but with a satnag, some of the houses have been in very remote place and none more so that this year’s in Lancashire. Peter has provided lots of entertainment at the house party which usually involved car problems. On one occasion needing to be collected by a low-loader and transported back to Yorkshire which took about 24/36 hours, but after a few hours shuteye returned in his spare Merc. Peter may not have been the tallest man in the Pal’s group but he will leave a big hole that can never be filled. As has been said many times, they broke the mould when Peter was born. A good friend who will be sadly missed but never forgotten who now joins the Pal’s group in the sky, Rest in peace Peter.

Peter, and all the Langton family. I have never felt so welcomed and loved by a family as I have with yours. I love you all dearly. I will fondly remember the laughs and there were many. The extreme barbecuing, the fantastic walks you have taken me on and for beginning my love of the Lake District. I will remember Easter time and that it’s a must to eat chocolate for breakfast. You have left some very very happy memories and Peter you will be remembered dearly forever in my heart

Pete was a lovely person, and I cannot remember a time when he wasn't part of the family, because he and Maureen had been together for so long! I loved his humour, and how he used to rib his mother-in-law Etta, (who was my mums twin sister), he used to make her laugh so much. Always smiling and joking, he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Love is sent to all the family, so sorry we cannot be there to give you all a hug, but hopefully we will be allowed to do that soon xx R.I.P. Pete xx

Family celebrations with the Langtons have always been made more fun by Peter’s presence. He always had a joke ready and he brought laughter wherever he went. Lots of love to all the Langtons xxx

Such a warm-hearted and generous gentleman with a wonderful repertois of side splitting jokes. He will be sadly missed but we will think of him often. Our thoughts are with the whole family. Rest in peace.
