Paul was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather. He had a successful career as a pharmacist and enjoyed stamp-collecting and classical music. Although he played many sports as a young man, tennis is where he found his true passion, playing at club level, in the Vets Championships and then for Great Britain in the World Vets Championships. He also served faithfully on the Veterans Lawn Tennis Association Committee. Paul was known for his gentle and friendly demeanor and will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

Many happy memories of playing tennis together starting in the late 1950's. Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington, around Warwickshire - taught me tactics I've never forgotten. The most honest player I ever shared a court with and a real gentleman both on and off court.

I felt very honoured a few years ago, when Paul and Angela asked me to make up a four....I was late 60s and Paul probably mid 80s, but still had amazing skills. It was very sad when he could no longer play for health reasons.....and I miss those fun matches.

I bumped into Paul several times over the years, playing in different places for different clubs. We always had a chat and he watched me playing a match, one year, at the Walmer Open tennis tournament, having a chat about it afterwards........lovely guy.
