Oluwadarasimi

My sweet Grandma, you were a woman everyone had to meet, the strongest prayer warrior I knew( I guess that’s where my mom got it from). Grandma was one of the few people that called me Oluwadarasimi so much. I remember how you were always the first to call on our birthdays for so so many years. Everytime you would come to visit us, you always came with gifts. Your generosity was out of this world, Grandma could give anything without thinking twice about it. I remember how you always constantly prayed for everyone around you. Before you slept every night you always prayed and first thing in the morning when you woke up in the morning. I love how devoted you were to God and how you made sure we loved God too. I miss how you always told us stories and tell us jokes. I miss how you read psalms in yoruba to me and I’ll try to place what psalm it was. I miss your hearty laughter. Till the end you were a woman who stood by her faith and prayed for everyone around her. Till we meet again Grandma

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I honor the life of my mother-in-law, who became a mother to me. From the moment I joined this family, she embraced me with warmth and acceptance. She was a woman of grace, wisdom, and strong values. I admired her devotion to her children and the pride she took in her family. Her life was a testament to perseverance and quiet strength. She carried herself with dignity and left an example worthy of emulation. Through her guidance and prayers, she helped shape the home we now continue to build. Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will endure through generations. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

A Tribute to Our Unforgettable Grandma "Grandma was the kind of grandmother everyone dreams of full of life, full of prayers, and always ready to make us laugh. She was a woman of firm discipline and great humor. I still remind my mum that it was Grandma who started my 'career' in the kitchen, making me wash plates at the young age of eight! Even then, she was teaching us the value of work, usually while sharing her famous wisdom stories that we are only now beginning to truly understand. Her faith was a sight to behold. I’ll never forget Wednesdays in England, watching her gather every plastic bottle she could find. She would line them up neatly in front of the TV during the MFM program, waiting for the prayers to reach the water. Once the program ended, she would turn to us with a serious face and say, 'This is Manna Water now! Drink it!' We would drink it, knowing that in her heart, she was making sure we were covered by God’s power. Coming to Nigeria to see her after many years was a highlight for all of us. Her happiness was radiant, and she immediately showed her love through her cooking pounding fufu and preparing that incredible Ogbono soup we had all missed so much. She was the most accommodating and generous woman, always making room for one more person at her table. We are so grateful that we got to celebrate her 80th birthday with her last year. It was a beautiful milestone for a woman who spent her life praying for us and loving us unconditionally. Grandma, you were our prayer warrior and our joy. We will miss your funny English, your powerful prayers, and even the 'Manna Water.' Thank you for being the heart of this family. Rest in perfect peace." Since the "Manna Water" story is so funny and sweet, you could suggest that all the grandchildren have a small bottle of water at the reception or wake to toast to her memory. It would be a lovely way to honor her "Manna Water" tradition!

A Tribute to My Grandma "Grandma always told my mum that I was her 'special birthday gift from God. For most people, a birthday is a personal celebration, but for us, it was a shared covenant. Sharing a birthday meant that from the moment I entered this world, I had a partner in life a soul twin who greeted me every year with a phone call that felt like a benediction. I remember so clearly when I turned ten. She was in England at the time, and we got to celebrate together. Looking back, I see now that it wasn't just a party, it was a passing of the torch. As we blew out the candles, she was sharing her light with me. She called me 'Blessing,' and she said it with such conviction that I began to believe it myself. That was her greatest gift she saw the best in us before we even knew it existed. Grandma was a woman of profound prayer. You didn't just talk to Grandma, you felt like you were standing in the presence of someone who had a direct line to Heaven. She carried our names to God every single morning. Her generosity knew no bounds her home was a revolving door of kindness, where no one was a stranger and everyone was fed, both in body and in spirit. As a child, I listened to her 'wisdom stories' with a wandering mind. I didn't always understand the metaphors or the lessons back then. But now, as I walk through life, I find those stories coming back to me. In moments of struggle, I hear her voice. In moments of doubt, I remember her prayers. She loved all her grandchildren unconditionally, but our shared birthday was our secret language. Grandma, I may not get that phone call this year, but I carry your prayers in my heart. You called me your blessing, but having you as my grandmother was the greatest blessing of all.

A Tribute to My Lovely Grandma My grandma was love in its purest form kind, gentle, and full of warmth. She had a special way of making me feel loved in everything she did. She used to call me Ijebu Ibodi, her special way of saying hello to me, and I will miss hearing it so much. I will miss everything about her voice, her love, and her presence. Though she is no longer with us, her love will always live in my heart. Rest in peace, Grandma. You will always be my lovely grandma.

With deep gratitude and reverence, I pay tribute to my beloved mother. My mother was a woman of strength, dignity, and unwavering commitment to her family. She nurtured us with firm guidance and steady love, teaching us the values of discipline, integrity, and hard work. Through her example, I learned resilience, responsibility, and the importance of standing for what is right. She made many sacrifices for her children, often putting our needs before her own. Her prayers were constant, her counsel wise, and her presence reassuring. She was the foundation upon which our family was built. Though her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, I am comforted by the legacy she leaves behind, a legacy of faith, strength, and unity. I am proud to be her son, and I will forever cherish the lessons she instilled in me. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
