My Dad passed away this week. Even though I knew it was looming, I didn’t know it would come so soon. I was hoping I’d have more time to get acquainted with the idea of death and what it means for those of us left behind. Now I am beginning to understand just how naive my existence was before I was forced to confront death’s discourteous blow. Fare thee well dad!

Baba, Every day since October 14 you have been in my mind multiple times- Ezekiel 18 gives me great comfort. Knowing that your passing was at the perfect time! Your wife, we who are your children loved you dearly but God loved you more. In 2022 in unison, we pleaded with God to give you a second chance. Yes, we received God's grace by spending great last moments together. In two days it will be exactly two months since you went to meet your creator and also wagui Joseph, cucu x2, Marika meri, and all those loved ones including your parents-in-law who went ahead of you. I know you do not know that during the same period mwithii was tata Catherine and wagui Joram. Dad, God gave you peace, rest in peace& in the love of God the Father and your maker. Your spirit continues to live within us. I will cherish the memories forever till we meet in the heavenly realm at the ripe age.
