My deepest condolences to his loved ones. I consider me lucky to crossed path with this awesome dude!

I only knew Mike for a week while he toured us around the beautiful Canadian national parks. He left a profound impact on me of someone who was a genuinely decent guy, caring about relative strangers, funny, full of energy and a positive influence on those he was around. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Clearly he made a difference to everyone he crossed paths with.

Mike was my B.C. Bud. We bonded over our jobs, we were both tour guides. The first time we got to hang out I suggested a hike in the forest near Whistler. We decided to drive to the start of the trail in his Moose tour bus. The hike was fantastic. Big, old-growth pine trees, a river crossing, and fresh, Whistler mountain air. We spent some quality time getting to know each other, chit-chatting, and sharing tour guide stories. But, the real bonding came when, on return to his tour bus, we realized there was nowhere to turn the bus around to go back down the 3km narrow, dirt access road. For the next 45 minutes, Mike slowly reversed the bus while I walked beside looking out for hazards and giving directions. He was only an hour late to pick up his tour group and he never cursed at the road, the bus or at me, not once during the whole ordeal.

Michael left an impact on everyone he crossed paths with, his natural contagious high could motivate anyone to be passionate about what he was pursuing. We had the opportunity to work together for a brief period, and nothing aches more than to hear that many wont have the same opportunity as I did. To Michael's family, you brought up an amazing son, one that has touched many walks of life with ease. He was nothing short than authentic, and genuine. I am truly sorry to hear about your loss, and hope that his life is celebrated for his accomplishments. I hope that we get to have more people like Michael in our lives, the world needs them.

My deepest condolences to his loved ones. I met Mike working at Internex and have great memories of him joining us at pub nights and at the Yale saloon for a fun night out and some bull riding. Mike, I hope you're in the best place now.

My deepest condolences for this absolutely heartbreaking loss. Mike was such a ray of sunshine who brought such happiness and kindness to this world. I met Mike when I was in Canada in 2017 and wish I had gotten more time to spend with him. Sending love to his family and friends.

I was lucky enough to cross paths with Mike in Vancouver. I'd just moved to Canada to start guiding, and was introduced to him through another tour guide, our friend Alan. The first time we met, we went to the golf in Stanley Park, and we played a game where we would set a dare at the start of the round, and the loser of that round would have to do it, silly things like dance with the pole in the golf hole or speak in an accent for the next round. I had just arrived in the country and was belly laughing with someone I'd just met, and it set the tone for my experience of Canada. Whenever we connected, Mike always brought such an energy, warmth and presence. I am so sorry to learn the sad news of his passing, and will be forever grateful for the way he welcomed me to the country. Sending love and warmth to Mike's loved ones.

I met mike while I was travelling through West Canada. How he managed to make a group of individual strangers become good friends in a short time was amazing. I learned a lot from him in the time travelling and spending time with him. He had the best song list playing, made me hitch hike for the first time, took care of everyone and was always happy and positive. The greatest condolences to his loved ones; he will be remembered by a lot of people around the world.
