Michael Hobday

So very sad to read of Mike’s death. He became head of Chelsea during my second year and quickly made a very positive impression. He was highly regarded by the wonderful Brian Berry which was recommendation high enough for everyone. Love and thoughts to family - remember with joy. Sleep well Mike.

Sarah Eliot-Cohen wrote: We were all so sorry to hear the news of your lovely Dad and on behalf of us all at The Royal Ballet School I send my deepest condolences. Graham mentioned that he had kindly left a bequest in his will to the School, for which we really are most grateful. We shall take great pleasure in acknowledging this and remembering your father’s loyal support of our students, by naming one of the seats in the School’s Linbury Theatre in his honour. You will of course be most welcome to come and see this.

Wonderful memories of Mick (& Tricia), our neighbours in Udall Gardens many years ago, & godparents of Sacha. I’d love to get in touch with Tricia, if that’s possible.

We send our condolences to his family and friends. We will greatly miss him at our meetings, annual dinners and other Association events."

Good memories of Mike at Chelsea and Brighton of his wisdom and sense of humour that emerged at unexpected times making it all the more special.
