Melanie Ravenscroft

You were the best. When I came to your school in year 5, you treat me with the best respects and you helped me. You went out of your way to put me with Ann Rawthorne and helped me understand myself, and changed my life. The doors you opened for me are innumerable and I will never forget the kindness you showed me, and I will continue to be kind in your honour. You were 1 in a 1000. I'm devastated to only have just found out of your passing, and I hope wherever you are, you're making a difference there too.

Melanie was one of the most inspirational teachers I ever met. She encouraged my love of history so much at school. Melanie was so kind and compassionate and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without having Melanie as a teacher . My heart and thoughts are with Melanie’s family especially her husband and children . Melanie will be forever in my heart .

As one of the governors who appointed Melanie, we felt that we were very lucky to have such an ideal candidate as the new head of St Aidans, And so it turned out to be. She fully immersed herself in a job which she clearly loved. Her leadership qualities were inspirational, and an important factor here was that she saw herself as a leader of a team who all worked together and shared their ideas to make St Aidans one of the top St Helens schools academically, with a wonderfully warm, caring, Christian ethos, remarked on by so many visitors, including OFSTED inspectors. The children gave the impression of owning the school and they made you welcome. Melanie will be sorely missed, but she leaves an incredible legacy, God bless and keep you Melanie. Rod

Melanie, you were such an inspiration to me always willing me on to achieve my goals. Such a caring and inspirational person who always had time for me and my family. Words can’t describe just how devastated we are at your passing. You gave so much time to not only Caitlin but us as a whole family.
