Marie Turner

Marie was always such a caring and loving person to her family, the parish and school. For me, it has been a huge privilege having known her: seeing Marie, Andy and Thomas over the years at Holy Cross: having taught Thomas and watch him grow into the wonderful young man he is today with the loving guidance of Marie and Andy; the many kindnesses shown by Marie to the children and staff alike; the volunteer work she did with Year 5 week after week; the concern and compassion she gave to me on the death of my uncle earlier this year; and, the other countless acts of kindness and compassion which will be missed beyond what can be said. Losing someone we love is not easy but knowing that we have been able to be a part of their life, is a blessing and consolation. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, words cannot begin to express the sadness you are feeling right now, but I am praying for you to get through this. Andy and Thomas, God bless you and may the soul of your loving wife and mother rest in the everlasting peace of Christ Almighty.

Marie was such a supportive and caring part of our Holy Cross family. She was a very supportive parent and dedicated member of staff and and also gave lots of time as a volunteer whenever we needed her; she was always so willing to help an do what was needed; never wanting anything in return. My thoughts and prayers go to Andy and Thomas and all members of Marie's family. She will be greatly missed by us all. Rest in peace Marie.

Heartbreaking news to hear of the loss of Marie , as part of the Holy Cross Family she was kind, caring and always helped if she could . It was a pleasure working with her over the years.She will be greatly missed by both staff and children . My heart goes out to Andy , Thomas and her family who will be in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time . May she rest in peace .

Marie was such a kind and caring person who will be incredibly missed by our Holy Cross Family. I had the pleasure working with Marie when she volunteered in my EYFS class and she was brilliant. She had a fantastic bond with the children, helping them to learn and being an extra pair of hands in the classroom. A truly special lady who will be sorely missed.

A week ago today, I received the heartbreaking news that Marie had passed away. A week on, I still find it unbelievable. Marie was a huge part of our Holy Cross family; always willing to help and support the children and staff alike. I will miss our little chats about Thomas, Oliver and Harriet; she clearly adored Thomas and was very proud of him, quite rightly so - he is a credit to both Marie and Andy. I especially remember the abundance of compassion and kindness Marie showed me, when I lost my mum a couple of years ago; she always went out of her way to see how I was. She didn’t just hear what I said, she listened with a warm heart. No words can describe how sorry I am that we have lost such a wonderful person and my heart goes out to Andy, Thomas and Marie’s mum who I know will be devastated. I can only pray that with time, their hurt will lessen and their memories will bring them comfort. Marie, your beautiful smile and selfless ways will always live on, in our thoughts and prayers. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with Marie. Her kindness and compassion knew no limits and her patience, like her smile, was endless. Marie was never too busy to help and frequently went above and beyond what she was expected to do. She always put others before herself and was always concerned for children's and adults wellbeing. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Andy, Thomas and Margaret and all Marie's family and friends who I know will be devastated by this overwhelming loss. I hope and pray that time and happy memories will bring them comfort, consolation and peace. Marie, it was a joy to have known you.

Oh!..my dear Marie, where to start,..have only known you around two years or so since I came to Holy Cross!.. You were a massive part of this lovely school, and like a mother hen, you scooped me up with warmth and compassion when I sadly lost my dad last year, a couple of months later you were there again when I had a big problem with my knee, coming to visit me , always texting to see if I was ok, even when I came back to to work, I will always treasure and remember that kindness, my heart goes out to Andy and your precious son Thomas who you absolutely adored , my I love Robin's, I will always think of you now when I see one how wonderful!.. well night-night my sweet Marie.. hope you are at peace my love.. xxx

I cannot believe I am writing this. Marie, you were such a special lady. I remember all those years ago you bringing Thomas into school and watching him grow into the lovely young man you have raised today. You were always such a huge part of Holy Cross and were such a selfless person. You helped out so many people and your heart was so pure. We had so many lovely chats over the years and bonded over so many things we shared in common. I always remember seeing you when i was on maternity leave in Sutton and you were so kind and caring and offered advice. Life just will not be the same without you. You did Andy and Thomas proud, Thomas was your absolute world. Your smile will stay with me forever. I hope you are at peace now. You will be forever missed. Emma xxx
