Marcia Spence

There are no words to describe Marcia other than an absolute ray of light. I'd never met a person who actually lit up a room with a smile. I am so thankful for the times I had on the road and at events catching up and laughing with Marcia. My deepest condolences to her family and children, please know how much she loved and was proud of you. Gone but never forgotten.

Sincere condolences to Marcia's children, family, relatives and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Marcia when she first started working at the Ministry of Transportation. She was a joy to know from the start. Beautiful inside and out. She cared about so many people. Her smile...her laugh...we will miss her...all the things that she lived and loved to do. My deepest condolences for Marcia's family and friends. I only worked with Marcia for a short time, during which I will always remember her warmth and joy for life and always with a smile on her face. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Marcia was like no other. She was the kindest, strongest and most loving soul that anyone could be fortunate enough to meet. She was the one who first hired me on at the Ministry of Energy, and there aren't enough words to express how grateful I am to her for that. I am grateful in that I had the opportunity to have her as a close friend that felt like family over these years, as we traveled around Ontario together, stuck in cars, planes and conference rooms for endless hours. I got to learn from her what it means to be an outstanding professional and a truly exceptional human being. She was a force to be reckoned with; one who cherished her children, family and friends more than anything in the world. I will never forget her amazing signature laugh and her insistence on throwing out the chocolate topping on every chocolate dip doughnut she bought. Briana and Jacob, you were the lights in your mother's life and there wasn't anything she was more proud of than you. Nothing brought her more joy than being your mother and watching you grow. There will not be a time where I don't miss Marcia, but she will continue on in the hearts of all who knew her. My deepest condolences and thoughts go out to her children, family, friends and loved ones.

Marcia had an amazing warmth, compassion and a very infectious energy! She seemed fearless! I know she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. My condolences to her family and friends.

There’s a famous quote that has been attributed to many writers over the years, but it applies to Marcia so perfectly. It goes like this: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Marcia made everyone feel wonderful. She could read a person’s mood and always find a way to brighten it. She could be introduced to someone and immediately spot something about them to complement. She could meet up with an old friend and slip right away into the slang she shared with that person – and the smiles and laughs would soon follow. Marcia always had your back. She was caring and patient. She was loyal and trusting. Knowing that she was on your side, you could take on any challenge. It was the best feeling. That was Marcia’s gift to us all.
