Mandy was a much loved and well-respected practitioner within Children's Services, with a vibrant character who could be described as ‘once met, never forgotten!’ She always made time for others and provided a listening ear, with a down to earth attitude which made it easy for people to talk to her and likely contributed to the way she formed relationships with some of our harder to reach children, young people and their families. She was always keen to make families feel equal, ensuring they felt listened to and not judged and applied this ethos to her colleagues too, always going out of her way to welcome new people to the team or service, often with her homemade sausage rolls in team meetings. Mandy had a passion for restorative work, and this could be seen in the effort and dedication she had to repairing and restoring relationships between families. Unlike some, Mandy loved being on duty, enjoying helping others in a crisis and being part of the team pulling together. She thrived on supporting and helping others and this is what she will be best remembered for, alongside her fantastic sense of humour which would have us all in stiches! And she will be a much-missed friend and colleague to many. This is a place for everyone to share thoughts, memories, stories and condolences and these will be collated into a book to be given to the family following the funeral.

Mandy, I will never forget what a kind and friendly soul you were. You cared so much about the families you worked with, and the people you worked with, and it showed. Very sad to hear of your passing, such a huge loss for NCC and those who knew and loved you. Rest peacefully, lovely lady x

Mandy, you were such a wonderful character, so bubbly and funny and I'll never forget some of the inappropriate comments you'd make at times which at first shocked me but I came to realise that this was just you and it was all meant in good fun! You will be missed by everyone. xxx

Mandy, you have left such a massive hole in the office and our hearts, its just not the same without your laughter, jokes and wind! You have helped so many families and young people, such a massive wealth of knowledge, and you knew how to kick butt with housing! You always knew what to say to pick someone up. Your sausage rolls will be missed but no where near as much as you. Sleep tight Mandy, you will never be forgotten xxxx

Mandy, it is a long time since we have had a conversation but as one of your first managers in NCC back in early 2000's I appreciated your passion, realism and drive to work with children and families. Your abilities to build relationships with both colleagues and families was a gift. Your uniqueness and strength to take anything on will be a loss. RIP.

Mandy, you never failed to make a person feel better, no matter what was happening for them your instinct made you reach out and your personality meant that people were naturally drawn to you. You had a way that made everyone feel they could just be themselves around you. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel (albeit full of wind). Miss you xxx

Mandy, I loved working with you. You was such a lovely lady and very caring. I will always remember your great sense of humour especially during the Teams Meetings, you always made me laugh. I remember you asked me to make you a certificate to prove you had achieved something on the system which I did and you found it funny. During Group Supervisions you were very knowledgeable and contributed so much in helping so many families. You will be so missed by your colleagues and friends in Children and Families. I just can’t believe you are no longer here. I will miss you and I will always remember your lovely smile and humour. RIP dear Mandy xx
