Lucy Hill

Lucy was a well respected and dedicated member of staff and she will leave a huge gap not only in terms of her work and her understanding of the needs of our children and families but also in her friendly presence on the 10th Floor at the Civic Centre and across the Council. Lucy was always keen to help and support others and she will be much missed.

Lucy was a joy to work with – always so helpful and she was passionate about improving the lives of Merton’s children and their families. I will miss her sense of humour and numerous witty one-liners! My thoughts and sincere condolences to Lucy’s family and friends. X

Lucy worked all across the council and will be really missed. We worked together for about 12 years in various roles. Lucy was so dedicated to ensuring things were done right and to the high standards she set. She was always straight to the point and let you know what needed to happen. We sat in the same area on the 10th floor and Lucy was always chatty, proudly sharing stories about the family. Lucy had a great sense of humour and I always appreciated her dry wit and one liners. My thoughts are with Lucy's family at this difficult time.

Lucy was already in post when I started in Merton in 2009, and has been a joy to work with from the very early days. A brilliant member of our service, full of stories, wit, wisdom and a fabulous sense of humour. A highly knowledgeable, experienced, professional and proactive person......I think about you often Lucy and your presence is so, so missed. Lucy and I bonded over our backgrounds in business and our young children many years ago. I've know Lucy since she started at Merton both to work with as a professional and as someone to chat to over the years. We shared the up and downs of life, watched our children grow and always had a laugh and a joke or a hug when it wasn't going so well. I called Lucy big sis and I will miss her great cackle! She was genuinely one of the nicest people at Merton. Love Yvonne

I'll miss Lucy enormously. I worked with her on several projects over the years and we chatted or emailed most weeks. It was always a genuine pleasure to work with her, as she was kind, energetic, down-to-earth, and enjoyed a laugh. Lucy would probably tell me off for using a cliché like this, but she was passionate about her work – she made sure things weren't just done, but done right. I'm so sorry she left us so soon.

Lucy always had a great sense of fun and a slight mischief that made her a joy to work with. However, she was always professional and could be relied on to get things done. What a wonderful contribution to Merton, sadly cut short.

I worked with Lucy for about a year. We would often talk about our children and she would update me on the things hers were doing. She was immensely proud of them, that was clear to see. So sorry for her family, friends and work colleagues
