Liam McArdle

We met liam and quickly became friends back in his 'Vale bar day's'. What a lovely human being he was; always such kindness in his eyes, voice and deeds, ( i can imagine him talking to me now, despite not catching up for about 15 years!) It was a privalage to know him. He will always be in out hearts and he will be truly missed. R.I.P Liam.

So saddened to hear this. Not living in Scotland anymore, so I've only just heard. What a blow. Absolutely lovely guy. I bumped into him a handful of times over the years in London and Glasgow, but was pretty intensely in his company around 1999 working in the Vale Bar, and spent many a night right into the wee hours, chatting about all the stuff that seemed important then (and still is), and plenty of nonsense besides. Last met him a few yeas ago both of us with our kids in tow, and it was, as it always was, funny and fun, like zooming right back to 1999. Never managed to have that last drink and blether with him... I'll miss him.

I am so sad to hear this news. I have many fond memories of working with Liam on The Edinburgh Festival and the Culture show. Thinking of all his family and friends at this very sad time.

A dear, kind soul. Gone too soon.

I was lucky enough to work with Liam a lot while at the BBC. He was one of the nicest people and a joy to spend time in the edit with. Always calm and organised, you know it was going to be a good day when he was in the chair next to you. A gentle man, funny and talented. I am so sad to hear he's gone and my heart goes out to all those left behind. He will be missed a lot. All my love to his friends and family

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Liam's passing and want to express my deepest condolences to all of his family and to those close to him.

It is hard to know what to write to truly convey how talented, kind and patient Liam was and how sorry I am for his wonderful family. We worked together, alongside our amazing team in 2022/2023 on a very special series. It was the truly my favourite project I have ever worked on and it was Liam who made that happen. Thank you for everything xx
