Kevin Stagg

It was to this fantastic gentleman that I owe my admission into Cardiff University. His comments to “hang in there” encouraged me during my undergraduate studies, ultimately allowing me to pursue the PhD in economics. My sincere condolences.

Kevin was a tower of strength in the section, hugely supporting our undergraduate programme as well as teaching his specialty of economic history. He will be greatly missed. Personally, I will much miss his cheerful presence and unfailing good humour..I was so sorry to be away from Cardiff on Saturday.. My deepest condolences over his loss.

Kevin was great company on my trips to China. I will miss our chats about politics, history, students, and our regular gossip and moan about the university and universities in general. Rest in Peace Kevin.

My deepest sympathy to Kevin's family. He was one of my longest standing friends at CARBS. I first met him in a meeting of postgraduate tutors in the history school arguing for higher pay. He was so generous with his time and never let me get out his office without a joke about the Germans (and me being militantly East German). I often got away with a book or two out of his immense stores, too. I will miss him.

Kevin will be sorely missed - he gave so much to the School and University over so many years and cared so deeply - and all with a cheeky and collegial smile. My condolences to family, friends and all those who will miss him dearly.

Kevin would always bring a smile to my face with his views on the world. Always someone you could rely on to cheer you up. I will miss him. My condolences to all his family.

Kevin was a great colleague and friend, his door was always open for a friendly chat and enjoyable discussions about random bits of history. I have happy memories of him and the towering piles of books in his office, and send my deepest condolences to his family.
