Condoleances

Sammy Wamae

Dad, I don’t even know where to start. Each and every day, I think about you. There’s a scar in my heart that will never heal since you passed. It all happened so fast. Throughout my life, you were a super hero to me. You overcame obstacles that I don’t think I’d ever achieve if I was in your shoes. I remember you’d tell me that all you want is for me (and Xtian later on) to live a life better than you ever had. From where I sit, I can confidently say that you accomplished your goal. At this point, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for being an amazing father. Thank you for being my role model. Thank you for supporting me throughout every one of my endeavors. Thank you for imparting your knowledge and experience when I needed it. Thank you for giving me second chances even when at times I didn’t deserve them. Thank you for showing me what a strong, ambitious man looks like. That was you. I miss you every single day. I think about you all the time. The smallest things remind me of you. I keep your memorial with me almost everywhere I go. I still have the Kenya wristband you gave me. It’s never coming off, just like yours never did until you left this earth. I miss the sound of your voice, your laugh, your jokes and the way you’d just randomly call me to talk about football & other stories. I have your number, but I can’t call you. It really hurts. The pain will never leave. The memories will never be forgotten. Your aura will forever be remembered. The love you gave me will forever be cherished. I won’t lie Dad, I cry a lot. My heart hurts. Thinking of what I could’ve done differently to prevent all this. It’s too late now. More than 3 months after you passed on, it still feels like yesterday. I’d give anything to bring you back. You were my pillar. I’ll always love you even in death. Hopefully at some point we shall see each other again. Till then, all I have is pictures and memories of you. Rest In Peace Dad. You’ll forever be in my heart.

My dear Ken, it is so sad to be saying goodbye too soon. Thank you for being a great friend, a mentor in the HR space and a fan of my endeavours. Whenever, I kwamad and I called you, you always had "a great idea" and once you had shared, you went on to throw in some wit which left me in stitches. Last year on 10 November you made a presentation to the NGO HR forum and as usual you gave your all (plus the humour), we were to meet and have chai, but that won't happen now. It is well and we release you into God's loving arms. My condolences to Susan, Sammy, Christian, your family and friends. May the Lord comfort them and cover them with His love. Rest in Peace Ken.

Sammy Itemere

My friend Ken l fondly called you Kwamea and you would call me Sitemere and we would have a hearty laughter thereafter. May your soul rest in eternal peace.

Susan, Sammy and Christian, Njeri, Mucemi and Ngure...and your families, It is not an easy thing to deal with the loss of a Husband, Daddy, Sibling, Uncle...and all that Kagiri was to you. And to his friends & other relatives. But God. He is able to give you strength and the grace to handle today, and tomorrow and every day after that. Trust Him for that grace. May His comfort abound to you all, His Peace that knows no measure surround you all and sustain you through this season. May Jesus wipe away your tears. He mourns with those who mourn. Shallom.
