Our colleague Kate McPhee McCracken recently passed, and we wanted to create a space for those who wish to leave their condolences and share memories of Kate. Kate worked at 100 Bothwell Street for over 20 years. She was a force of nature, very friendly and well known to colleagues at all levels within SLC. Kate retired on the 17th of March 2021 but was still a regular visitor to her SLC family.

To say Mum loved working at SLC would be a massive understatement. It was without doubt her favourite job. Thank you for setting this page up. In time we will work through all the condolences below. She is missed everyday by all of us. Thank you for making the end of her working life so enjoyable for 20+ years. She always spoke about SLC like she still worked there. She will forever be in our hearts.

Still cant believe that I wont see your happy wee face anymore, having worked with you for nearly 20 years I will cherish the fun memories! always up for a laugh and a joke! you were part of our team no matter what pinafore you wore. I was sad when you retired as you and Rosie were the best wee duo, we all know how much she missed you! As they say its not goodbye its see you later, RIP Wee Yin lots of love xxxx

So sad to hear of Kate's passing. Reflecting about Kate - the warm and fuzzy feeling from thinking about the jokes and larks in the kitchen area on the 8th floor of Bothwell Street will remain with me. I conclude Kate was one of those rare things - one of Planet Earth's beautiful human beings.

Feels like yesterday I was writing Good luck in Kate's Retirement Card. Taken far too soon. An absolute Gem always laughing and joking . She would do anything for you. Many a chat and laugh was had in the 8th Floor Exec Area Kitchen with Kate and Rosie and many a problem solved. My condolences to all of Kates family and Friends . She will be sorely missed. xx
