June Martin

With the rocket-fuel coffee and a vast supply of free cakes (which she'd walk to the shops most lunchtimes to buy for us), June spoilt us rotten for so many years. Always greeting us with a huge smile, she was such a big memory of my time at the university, and I'm sure she was for others. My condolences to her family, I can only hope she got to enjoy some of her retirement.

June was such a welcoming face in the Buttery, from the first day I started in Newcastle. The 10:30 tea break with her secret supply of extra cakes was a fixture for the electrical power researchers, such sad news and my thoughts are with her family.

June was a wonderful, caring and responsible woman. She made the best coffees in Newcastle and always had a smile on her face. We will miss you..

June was one of the nicest people I met in all my time at the University. Always looked forward to my morning tea break and exchanging a few words with her. We've lost a genuinely kind and decent human being.

June brightened every day and was ready to offer an early morning cup of coffee with a kind word and a smile to a fellow early starter. Nothing was ever too much trouble and even the most horrible days seemed somehow brighter after a cuppa in the Buttery when June was around. We all miss you and will remember you with love, rest in peace June.

So very sad to hear June has passed away. She looked after us in the Buttery for many years and was a dear friend .

So sorry to hear this sad news. Such a lovely lady who without fail had a cup a tea, a couple of biscuits a smile and a chat waiting. Happy memories of June and the Buttery during my time in Metz Court. God bless x

June unknowingly played a big part in the school, a warm friendly face who welcomed in many customers (even outside of Merz) to meetup and network. The tea lady mum, definitely one of a kind who always brightened up our mornings with that lovely smile. Always served with a good chinwag.... our cuppa already poured before we even got to the counter. Sadly missed.
