Condoleances

Dear Nwoga family, please accept my deepest condolences over the passing away of your father. I didn't know him very well but from the few times I saw him, I remember that he always exuded an air of confident authority and there was something special about him that I couldn't help but admire and respect. There is a special place in our hearts reserved only for fathers, and their permanent absence is impossible to ignore. But I pray that God may give each of you the grace and fortitude to bear this loss. May God be with each of you, and lead and guide you, and I pray that your father may rest in eternal peace, in Jesus' name, Amen.

It was a great shock to receive the sad news about the passing of a friend, brother and professional colleague. May the Almighty God grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear this loss and may God grant his soul eternal rest. Amen

I express my profound condolence to Mrs. Norma, her children and the entire Nwoga family on the passing of your beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Chief Engineer Joseph Chima Nwoga. Engineer Joe was a remarkable gentleman, a passionate family man and an accomplished professional who will be sorely missed by all and sundry. I urge you, the Nwoga family and indeed the entire Umuokirika Community to take solace in his sterling accomplishments while on earth. May he awaken to joyful activity at the foot of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Those we love can never be more than a thought away; for as long as there’s a memory, they live on in our hearts.Uncle Joe, you’ll forever be missed and I can’t believe that I am writing this in your memory for all I can visualise as I write this is that forever joyful smiling face of yours. Daddy Joe , in the short time I got to know you , you were larger than life. Full of energy , enthusiasm and a desire to live your life your way. You were attentive and always had time for me. We always had something to talk about and between you and me, I am sure we would have solved a lot of life’s problems given half a chance! You were loved and respected by a great many people and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace daddy Joe ..... rest in peace.

Bro Joe, where do I begin? We both met in London about half a century ago, 1973 to be precise. I was on a visit from Nigeria, a three-month study leave at the School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London. You were a young handsome bachelor based in London. You popped into a small hotel in which I was staying for something I cannot recall. We got talking immediately as if we had known each other earlier. The chemistry was unmistakable. That led to frequent meeting's between us. You made yourself available to take us in your car to nice places in London on a frequent basis. We were both in our early thirties, outgoing, vivacious and fun loving. You were still a bachelor then. Who would have guessed that the relationship struck then will survive decades and see both of us into our eighties? Years later in Lagos, we got to know each others families. Our wives and children got to know each other, bonded well and enjoyed social occasions together. It also happened that, both families found themselves worshipping in the same Catholic Church of the Assumption, Falomo. I can go on and on. Why do I call you Bro Joe? It is because over these decades you became nothing less than a brother to me. Bro Joe, you were without doubt a good man, loved by many. We will miss all that humour and laughter. When the news of your parting reached my wife, Daisy, and I, we found it most difficult to handle. It took quite some time for the reality to sink in. Daisy often spoke of your good nature and kind heartedness. Bro Joe, your parting is painful, but we are consoled by the fact that you have left us for a better place, to be in the bosom of your maker. We love you, Joe, but God loves you more; His will, not ours. Adieu Bro Joe. Dr Titus & Mrs Daisy Okereke.

Uncle Joe as I fondly called you, was a sharp dresser and very nice, he was a man who could fill a room with his mere presence. He will be missed.. My heart goes out to Aunty Norma, the kids and the entire Nwoga family during this difficult period.. May your gentle soul Rest In Peace
