Joop Braakhekke was een van de bekendste Nederlandse koks. Naast restaurateur, bistro Le Philosophe, De Kersentuin, Le Garage en En Pluche, was hij ook een televisie bekendheid die gedurende vijf jaren o.a. het populaire programma "kookgek" presenteerde. De kookboekenreeks "kookschrift van een kookgek" is van zijn hand.
