John was a brilliant mind, our fearless leader, a loyal friend, loving father, and selfless husband. We have all learned so much from John’s character, as he truly challenged each and every one of us to better ourselves and heighten our potential.

The shock to read of John's passing still has a grip. John was my son's best friend when we lived in El Paso. I remember meeting John for the first time. He was a breath of fresh air. John befriended Dan in Morehead School. John was always respectful. Judy you raised a great son. I think often of El Paso with you and John. Love and Condolences Peggy Hearl

It's taken me a while to come to this page. John's loss hit me pretty hard... he was my PT but also a friend. I referred many people to John because John cared, he cared more than most about healing people. This is something so rare these days. Was he goofy? Did I want to slap him sometimes? Well I'll let you answer those questions.. but in reality he made me realize that a life of bodily abuse and sports doesn't have to end via injury or surgery or age. John treated my body and allowed me time to treat my mind. Healing from my neck injury took years - yet he had the patience to keep working with me. In that time not only did we get past the original problem but fixed other issues that have allowed me to be closer to 60 and in the best shape of my life. A big part of that goes to Dr Kummrow. In addition when my father arrived to spend a summer with us and could barely get off the plane with his walker... John worked with him that summer and sent him home without a walker.. he could walk 2 miles without help (albeit slowly) and Bill was proud of that. Bill passed away a few years ago, but he was going dancing - something he wouldn't have been able to do without John's special kind of help. John has also worked with my wife, my daughter and countless friends. We have shared some whisky and dinner. And while we never were close friends, I was deeply hit by this loss and my condolences go out to Jen and his kids and family. A bright spark diminished way to soon in life. Dr. John Kummrow you will be missed by many.

We each encounter wonderful people in our lives, but some rise above the rest. John was one of those. An incredible person, healer and friend. There are no words to convey my sadness. I can only imagine the depths of yours Jen and John's family. The extent to which John impacted my life stretches so far beyond the amazing PT that he provided. His brilliance in that realm alone is irreplaceable, but it is everything else that embodied him as a passionate, kind, giving, humble human being that will be so deeply missed. Nothing but happy memories and fun times will live on in my heart every time I think of John, and honestly every day. Because that is the kind of impact he had on people. I am honored to have know him and called him friend.

John was an exceptional young man who I adored. From a little boy sitting on the console in my Fierro (only a two seater and he wanted to go anywhere Cory was going!), to a teenager, to a responsible adult -he was (is) loved. He and Cory used to challenge each other who could call the earliest on Mother’s Day ! The world will miss you Dr. John Kummrow ❤️

Jen, I am heartbroken for you. And devastated for everyone in John's life, and the folks who will now never get to know him. He was this incredible combination of brilliant and empathetic and outgoing that made it seem easy for him to change my life. And he did. After so many folks had failed, he gave me my body back and will forever be an VIP in my life. Just know that he will never be forgotten. And I will send you warm thoughts everytime I think of him, and thank him for what he did for me. I'm so so sorry.

Jen, John's family and the Integrative Physiotherapy team, my condolences for your tragic loss. So many things to remember about John. John straightened me out, gave me some height back. I learned to work through good pain and stop on bad pain. I learned about good cramps and bad cramps. John instinctively knew how hard to push you; how much pressure to apply. John could always find a way to isolate the chain that was being targeted. John always connected the dots, 'ass to ankle', one from my last appointment. Always giving visual clues, a triangle between here, a heart shape there. I enjoyed working with John. I loved being challenged. John was uniquely gifted. John was one of a kind. John is dearly missed. Praying for you in this difficult time.

John was part of my life and I was part of his for 22 or 23 years. He was young enough to be my son, but old enough to be my teacher. Even as I write this, it’s hard to believe he won’t be greeting me at the clinic with a big bear hug today. In all the time I knew him, his inquisitive mind and his high energy were the things that stayed the same. When I met John, he was a college kid on a football scholarship who was going to be an MD. Even then, his memory of names of muscles, bones, tendons was mind boggling. He was always eager to learn, whether that was from his mentors in the gym or the people around him. I was his client when he had to give up his dream of playing professional football. I was his client when he was working through the philosophical disconnect between his pre-med coursework and his ongoing training as a personal training. Later, I got to be his client when he became a Doctor of Physical Therapy and he first opened Integrative Physiotherapy. Finally, I got to help him celebrate as he opened his own clinic, grew his business and started hiring other talented therapists. I got to see him achieve his goals. Along the way, he and the amazing crew he put together have enabled me to achieve fitness goals and recover from miscellaneous injuries though the years. At 76, I have John and good fortune to thank for my health. Physical therapy has kept me virtually free of surgery and provided solutions MD’s never did. Jen, I was really glad when you and John became a couple, because I think very highly of you as well, and you’ve been part of a lot of his personal journey. I was delighted for the two of you when you got married, and I hoped you would have a long and happy life together. The reality of his accident less than a year later is so harsh, I can’t begin to express how sad it makes me.

I know it's been a bit but, I'm sure, just like you, I am having trouble reconciling this. I'm just so so sorry for your loss, for my loss, and for the loss of John to the world. Love and Blessings, Julia
