Jason Page

I met Jason as I want to the church 6 years ago. He lift me in his car to my family in 4 Nash Pl, Stirling. My mother and I met him and his wife Anne in Canberra Hospital. I will always remember him so much as long as I will never forget about him.

It was a great shock to learn that Jason had passed away almost three years ago. He was a true man of God, exemplifying the Christian qualities of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I knew Jason shortly after he joined the Air Force and caught up with him again in Canberra in 2001. He helped me to understand God's will over so many years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The world is truly a lesser place without Jason.

I have great memories of visiting Townsville as a kid in the 1960s and having wonderful times with my northern Page cousins, Jason, Clinton, Greg and Tracey. Later, while stationed at RAAF Laverton in Victoria, Jase would visit our family home for Sunday lunch. I always looked forward to his visits as he would take me in his green Toyota Celica couple to the empty shopping centre carpark (as they were on Sundays during the 1970’s) and teach me how to drive a manual. He seemed a man of the world going places and I looked up to him with admiration. He must have been all of 22 years of age then! Well, he did go places just not where he intended back then. His memorial last Sunday showed just how many people he touched on his journey through life. The Celica’s long gone, but not my memories of and love for him. See ya later big cuz.

Dear Anne and family, We were shocked and saddened to hear about Jason. He was the oldest cousin in our tribe and him being a QLDer we didn’t get to see much of him growing up, but when we did he was a kind and welcoming ‘big kid’. Got to know him a little better when he visited Melbourne and his religious faith was beginning to bloom. He had time for the quiet ones in a room full of bright, funny people like himself. Wish we had been able to catch up again.

Jason was one of the best, if not the very best Anglican rector I have been fortunate to know. He really made my three year assignment to Canberra the best, and gave me new insights into our Anglican communion. Our Episcopal Church here in the States will never be the same for me and my wife, Susan.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Anne and family. Jason - always welcoming, challenging and faithful. We still think him as our family rector. Martin, Sue, Matthew, Nicola and Luke Blumenthal.

Our love and prayers for Jason's family and for the members of St Peter's church. May you all be upheld by the great memories you have of such a faithful servant of Christ and the many blessings he brought into the lives of so many people during his lifetime.

Jason went the "extra mile" in taking Holy Communion to the housebound particularly at Christmas. Thank you.
