Jan Potter

(On behalf of the teaching, academic support and mentoring team at the University of Exeter) Jan's intellect, integrity and passion for healthcare, were obvious from the very beginning of her studies with us, but despite her impressive academic achievements, she was always modest about her abilities and quick to share her great sense of humour. Our condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. We may only have known her for a couple of years, but we will always remember her.

As mature students on the MSc cohort, I never got to meet Jan personally, only virtually. Despite that, her knowledge, enthusiasm and positivity shone through and I can only imagine what a tour de force she was in the flesh. deepest condolences to her family and take comfort from knowing that her reach went far.......and she is missed.

From the moment I met Jan , I have been truly inspired by her wealth of knowledge and optimism and passion to support those around her. Always supportive and complementary with a critical eye which was delivered with a dose of humour.

Jan was such a kind and caring person who always went above and beyond to support others. She was a really upbeat person too who will be sadly missed within the Wellbeing Team.

I will remember Jan for her thoughtfulness, kindness and never-ending support to patients and colleagues. She was a very special person and my heart goes out to Jan's family at such a sad time.

Jan was a total inspiration to us all, so full of optimism and energy and she will be so greatly missed. My heart goes out to her family, friends and colleagues. I hope you can take some comfort from knowing how much she has been loved and respected by so many, not least for her approach to her cancer.

Sincere condolence to Jan's daughter, family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all have known her. She was such a lovely person, so down to earth, funny, compassionate, approachable and driven. I started my training with Jan many years ago. I remember Jan and I did a health care promotion at a local primary school very early on in our career and Jan said "this is what I would like to do, provide education and support to improve health and wellbeing". Many years later our paths crossed again and I found that she was leading a team doing just that. Well done Jan.

I have known Jan for many years and have always valued her wealth of knowledge and admired her passion to try and make a difference. We both thrived for inclusion across Plymouth to access health improvement education and met many challenges along the way. This lovely smiley lady will be greatly missed.
