Hannington Odame

It is still a sombre mood at CABE Africa until to date. As an organization, we miss our former boss immensely. His shoes are too big to fit in, but God will see us through in this period of time. As a person, Doc elevated me from grass to Grace and I am whom I am because of him. Words can't explain how much I miss H, but God knows why. May he continue resting in peace.

I was so shocked and saddened by the news of Hannington's untimely passing. He was far too young and had far too much to give to the world. I will always value and remember the research collaborations we shared over the last five years. He was an effective and talented partner, and I learned a lot from him. He was also one of the kindest, most generous and positive people I've had the pleasure of knowing. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Hannington was a wonderful, generous man - always smiling, aways happy to help others - he always gave of himself. It was a privilege to know Hannington through all the time I worked with Future Agricultures and to count him as a friend as well as valued work colleague. He will be greatly missed and we send our deepest condolences to his family for their huge loss - Hannington was a one off.

I had a chance to get to know Hannington through his works on rice sector development in recent years. Starting from East Africa Rice Conference 2021, he led the study for developing an M&E system for National Rice Development Strategy of Kenya, and he contributed as a resource person to formulation of EAC Rice Development Strategy. He was always cheerful, encouraging, and easy going. It is very sad that we cannot work together anymore. May his soul rest in peace.

Heartbreaking news. It was such a pleasure working with Hannington. He was inspiring and gave positive vibes in meetings. Rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the family and close friends.

It's a very shocking news and hard to believe that Hannington Odame is not with us any more. He has been a source of inspiration for many African youth and a role model for many of us in agriculture fraternity. He will be missed! May his soul rest in peace !
