My heart is truly broken by the loss of our dear Gladys - Glado. My deepest condolences go to her family, colleagues at Uraia, and all her friends who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Gladys was a remarkable Lady, an excellent Head of Finance, a dedicated and principled professional, but above all, a warm, kind, and genuine person. She gave so much of herself to Uraia and to the people around her, always smiling and willing to help, guide, encourage, and simply be there when needed. Her professionalism earned her great respect, but it was her heart, humility, and friendship that made her so special. It is difficult to accept that she is no longer with us, and I know her absence will be felt deeply by her family, at Uraia staff, and among her many friends. May God give her family strength and comfort during this incredibly painful time, and may He grant Glado eternal rest. I will always be grateful for the memories, the moments shared, and the privilege of having known such a beautiful soul. Rest well, Gladys. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten

It was shocking to learn of Gladys' passing. We spoke just before going to India and were hopeful she'll come back. Praying for her family and colleagues at Uraia Trust. May you all be comforted.

Gladys hired me at Uraia for one of the most transformative roles in my career. I say that because she was the only staff member among the external evaluators who interviewed me. I remember how her warm smile calmed my nerves that day, and that warmth continued even after I joined the organization. When it was my time to leave Uraia, she spoke such kind words to me. I was honestly a little surprised because our roles did not interact too much but her words stayed with me. I can’t imagine the sorrow that her close family, friends, and Uraia colleagues are feeling at this time. I pray that God will comfort you all during this difficult period, and that Gladys’s soul will rest in peace.

I am still in shock and struggling to believe that Gladys is no longer with us. She was a true leader; clear in her direction, unwavering in her principles and tenacious, but also deeply caring, warm and with a wonderfully cheeky sense of humour. She was more than a boss to me; she was a friend, a mentor and someone who left a lasting mark on my life. I am deeply grateful to have known and learned from her. Rest peacefully, Gladys. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May God comfort her family and all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.
