I joined Secureworks one day before Gareth and we were both in the same team. We became good friends and helped each other along with training and with getting to know our way around Secureworks. I was so lucky to have worked with you Gareth, your smile and humor and caring nature will be missed. Your knowledge and willingness to help others in the team and across the company was truly remarkable. I was so shocked and sad to hear of the news. You will definitely be missed but yes not forgotten. I wish all of your family the very best throughout this difficult time. x

I had the pleasure of working with Gareth for just over a year at Secureworks. Not only was he an excellent Security Engineer, but also a genuinely nice guy. He was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but also enthusiastic, positive and always happy to help. He truly cared and always had our client’s best intensions in mind. His passing has been a massive shock to us all. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. Our thoughts are with Lesley, Lucas and wider family at this very challenging time.

I was Gareth's manager at Secureworks. Gareth was a hugely knowledgeable, capable and effective member of the team, who made a great impression across the business. He was active across many aspects of Secureworks life, with a distinctive approach that could be challenging and quirky but was always thoughtful and thought-provoking. He was held in great affection and respect by all those he encountered here and is greatly missed.

Gareth was my security engineer for nearly 2 years, all during Covid lockdown. I never met Gareth face to face but on hearing the news it felt like I lost a brother. My sincere condolences go to Lesley and his family. Gareth with all his quirky and inquisitive ways will be missed greatly in the team and by me.

I worked with Gareth at Secureworks. Testament to the impact he made is that his passing has been felt across continents. The consummate professional and a thoroughly nice guy, you will be missed, but not forgotten Gareth.

I met Gareth in our final year at UoWE (Bristol Poly) when we shared a house on the student village and a few ciders. A few years after we graduated from our respective courses we ended up as part-time neighbours in Yateley in Surrey where we shared a few more ciders and at weekends we would often retreat to Gareth’s house in Bristol where I would cook a 1990’s style curry and drink McEwans export. On one of those weekends we were at one of Gareth’s neighbours watching RobCop and sharing a few more beers or ciders, when they got a call to attend an an alarm on a business on the edge of St Pauls?. Without hesitation Gareth volunteered our services to ride shotgun to attend the call. Luckily there was not an issue and as a reward we were both presented with a rubber coated hammer. Some 30 years later I still have that hammer which has pride of place in my garage and helped me with many DIY projects. That hammer will now forever remind me of Gareth. RIP old friend Phil
