Frank Martin

Hi Nicola Frank will be truly missed in our little poker group. I don’t think anyone looked forward to Thursday nights more than your Dad. His Legend however will live on. We are intending to have an annual game in his honour. A trophy is being ordered and I’m sure The Iceman Poker Championship will be an event we will all want to win! RIP Frank

It’s so sad to loose such a good loyal friend, we can’t imagine what you’re going through Nicola when that same person is also your Dad. Thinking of you today on this first milestone (19 November 2020) and wishing our good buddy a Happy Heavenly 84th Birthday ... Raising a cheeky glass of JD to our absent friend. Love & hugs xx

Nicole I had a special relationship with Frank, not all lovey dovey but we understood each other. I first met Frank about 10 maybe 12 years ago playing poker at the Albert. We hit it of straight away,perhaps it was the love of poker but perhaps it was how we felt about Jeff, great minds think alike. We often had words but Frank was the one person I could never fall out with, I wish our friendship could have lasted another 10 years. I will always have fond memories of a really top bloke, the Iceman, the good budy and sometimes an argumentative old git, but a great friend regardless. I hope he rests in peace and if there is a heaven, then lets meet up sometime at the pearly gates for one last game.

Hi Nicole, I don’t know you but I also played poker with Frank regularly at the Albert. I know how much he loved the game and it was always enjoyable to talk to him about it. He was a great guy and always had something interesting to say. I will miss him he was a good friend and I am sorry for your loss Rob

Hi Nicole, condolences to you and your family at this sad time, both my wife Sue and I played poker with your dad at Whaley club over the years and I did at the Albert, he used to call me Del Boy, he even used to do the odd delivery for me when I needed help, we was a wonderful man and it was a pleasure to call him a friend, he will be very sadly missed by all who knew him. Hi Nicole I dont know you but I played poker with your dad at whaley club and at the Albert. He was a lovely man alway had a good chat with me whether it was about when he was driving his van or just talking about football.we were about 40yrs different in age but had some much in common. It was a pleasure being a friend of ice man Frank x Love to you and your family x Neil

Nicola, Such lovely memories, he was a special and caring dad to you and he loved you very much. So sorry he has gone, you will miss him so much but he will always be with you in your heart. Love you Mum
