Francesca Ghillani

Nuvole nel vento Corpo e anima, la creatura umana, spirito e materia. Non cenere la fine di chi più amiamo, mai, ma nuvole nel vento, candide nel cielo azzurro di una primavera eterna, dove la luce del sole, più pura, risplende e il calore del loro amore, non ci abbandona, ma più forte, nel cammino, come in un perpetuo abbraccio, per sempre ci accompagna.

My heartfelt condolences to Francesca’s family for their loss. I was fortunate to experience over the past couple of years Francesca’s warmth and empathy, as we connected virtually, due to Covid-19, through a variety of settings, sometimes in exchanges including with others and at other times between ourselves. I will carry with me the warm glow of my memory of her.

Unfortunately I didn’t meet Francesca in person, only online but she was such an intelligent, corageous, and sweet person with amazing ideas. I wish we could have had more time. It was an honor to be with her at seminars and workshops of the institute to get a glimpse of her knowledge, Her work as a researcher and her lovely personality will not be forgotten.

My dearest Fra, you are missed beyond belief. Thank you for making Wolfson home. Thank you for your friendship, hugs, and your contagious laughter. I love you and miss you.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I met Francesca a couple of times at our workshops, where she always positively engaged with the discussions and generously provided her most insightful thoughts and comments. I had not realized that she had health conditions until I read this heartbreaking news. Her encouragement and endeavor in pursuing knowledge and conducting research were so admirable.

I feel so sorry and so sad. My sincere condolences to her family, colleagues and friends.

I am very sad to hear of Francesca's death, but God always choose to Himself the most beautiful flowers of His garden. I had the privilege to meet Francesca at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing where we shared common research interests, and very insightful discussions. My main recollection of Francesca was her contagious smile, and positivity. My sincere condolences to her family, and friends.

Francesca was a warm, welcoming person that I had the privilege to meet at the Institute of Population Ageing. She will be missed. My deep condolences to her family.
