Ette Chiwaka

Ette Chiwaka worked at Barking & Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge CCGs for many years. She was a bright and bubbly member of the team with a strong, vibrant and lively character. Most recently, as a Senior Programme Manager in the Unplanned Care Team, Ette had worked closely with care homes, and had been at the centre of working with our local authorities to provide local care providers with support and advice during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those colleagues who knew Ette, will know she was a very loving mother of her three children, who dedicated herself to doing the very best for her family. Ette will be greatly missed by her colleagues and friends at the CCGs, and all of our thoughts are with her children and her family at this enormously sad and difficult time.

I remember your first day at Havering CCG just like it was yesterday. In walked this confident woman with a huge smile and warm glow. I knew then and there Ette was going to be a character who would bring joy to the office. You didn’t disappoint, constant change of hairstyles, bright and vibrant clothes with yellow being your favourite. We shared so many laughs and I am so thankful to have met such a wonderful and gentle soul. Your sudden passing is hard to comprehend, so young and full of life, an inconceivable loss to all that knew you and my thoughts are with your family at this very sad time. I know that your memory and spirit will live on through your beautiful children and those closest to you. Remembering the brightest stars shine to remind us that the special people we lose are always with us. Sleep well dearest Ette, gone to soon but will never be forgotten xX

The sad news of Ette’s passing came as a huge shock to me. I worked in Imperial Office with Ette and I always heard her before I saw her! I loved her numerous hairdos and colourful outfits, she had spirit, energy and drive and definitely a character not to be forgotten. My sincere condolences and sympathy go to her family who she always talked about so fondly. Nothing is lost, I believe she is in a good place x

I am so very sorry to learn of Ette's passing. Ette was such a character and wonderful to work with. We were often some of the last in the office and she would talk so passionately about so many things, particularly her work and her family. She was a brilliantly hands on colleague who made such a difference to so many people. My condolences to Ette's family, she will be very much missed by all of us.
