Ethel Patterson was a loving mother enduring professional, and well-known community fixture. She was endeared to many for her straightforward personality, faithful and dedicated spirit. She retired from NC Mutual Life Insurance Company and worked a number of places over the years: Sperry, Duke University Botany Dept., Canfields, Weck Medical and Sumitomo Electric (fiber optics). In the food world she worked in a number of cafes, most notably the historic Dillard's BBQ and the Meridian Cafe (forgot name) on Hwy 55. (We are not using her actual birth info.)
