Elaine Dixon-Crooks

Humble, energetic, dedicated, hardworking and God-fearing were some selected adjectives that could be used to describe the epitome of beauty sent to us in human form. She was a mother to many, a woman who had nothing, but kind words to share. Death has left a heartache no one can heal. However, your love has left a memory no one can steal. You will always be my heart. Rest in perfect peace Mrs. Crooks. We will miss you!!!!

One of the most unwavering enemies of mankind is death. While we accept that we are susceptible to its sting, we will never be able to evade the pains of grief and loss. I met Mrs. Crooks in the workplace in 2019. For just a short time I was impressed by her compassion, commitment to work, and professionalism. What resonates with me most is how she effortlessly modeled her Christian lifestyle with absolute sincerity and without force. I am still fascinated by her practical ways of addressing uneasy issues with grace and wisdom. Her words poured oil and wine - healing hurt souls (and feelings). Mrs. Crooks would always share a soothing consolation or encouragement in the face of uncertainties and uncomfortable encounters. In a more personal space, I could depend on her to send the links from the Awake magazine (of which I am an avid reader). She was one of those persons who succeeded in inciting me to become more seriously engaged in my health and fitness routines. From my short, yet impactful encounter with her, I have come to realize that as we make our transient journeys through life, how we touch the lives of others are the only achievements of permanence. She fought the good fight, finished the race, and remained faithful. Friend, mentor, and fitness coach...Sleep and take your rest.

It was so sad to hear of her passing. She was my physical education teacher but I remembered her for her humility,kindness and the love for us. You will be truly missed.

Mrs. Crooks wasn't just my teacher and netball coach she was more than that. She was my mother and a friend to me. I remember when we where at practice and she would always encouraging us to keep pushing because we can do it . She always gives me hope to look for the better and never settle until I do my best . She use to call me every Saturday and we would talk about church and life , we would talk for hours . We both share the same brith month , her brithday was a week after mine and she would make sure she gets me smtg for my bday and I'll do the same , we always switch gifts the first Friday back to school. But I guess that's all over know . Their's one thing I can be sure of though, I'm sure I won't let her down .RIP MRS. CROOKS YOUR FOREVER IN OUR HEART❤

To the person who always has an encouraging word, who always told me to never give up and pushed me a little harder. I could always count on you to be there. I will always mis you my mother. You made me who I am today. Words cannot express the kind of person you are always smiling and helping others. Never letting us give up. We will never forget you. Love you mom.

How does one express the amazing essence and spirit of Elaine, her selfless generosity, uncompromising belief in all that is good and her unwavering commitment to Colleagues, family and friends? Words, even the very best of words, cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we are all feeling today. She exemplified life, love, laughter and an irrepressible belief and faith in seeing the best in everything. We honor her, by profoundly feeling and expressing our loss, but also by remembering her as an amazing person who has played a unique and special role in all of our lives.
