Eileen Marie O'Donnell Coogan died on March 16, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends after a long and brave battle with Multiple Myeloma. Eileen and Bob Coogan were married for 51 years and celebrated both their wedding anniversary as well as the day they met, December 3rd. Eileen embraced life and had many interests that she pursued with a generous and full heart. Above all, Eileen was an immensely loving and beloved wife, mother, and Nana. Eileen never sought to be the center of attention, and yet she was our rock, our compass, and our light. It is never easy to lose a loved one. My desire is that you find consolation in the promise of God found in Revelation 21: 3-4 that says that soon, "He, will cleanse all tears from our eyes, and death will no longer be, nor will there be more mourning or outcry or pain." We will see all of our loved ones when they are resurrected in a beautiful paradise here on earth, my deepest sympathy to the family.

I'm heartbroken by this news-- but want her loved ones to know what a difference "Mrs Coogan" made in the lives of my daughters. She always listened with respect, no matter what the issue was, she motivated with humor and wisdom, and she was the safe adult that my (then) girls could go to for a cup of tea and an encouraging word. As a parent, I knew that my kids were in great hands. What a wonderful human being. We will miss her and think of her with love and gratitude.

As I wondered into a small bookstore on March 15th, I stopped.....still......silent.....and sad. It was overwhelming. I was thinking of my very good friend (x55yrs) and sister-in-law(x 18yrs), Eileen. You see there was not a bookstore we could pass without Eileen going in. She was an avid reader, and there were not many days that she did not have a book or two, or the NYTimes in her hand. She was very intelligent, quick witted, courageous, kind, generous and loving. As we would leave the bookstore, she would hand you a bag and say...."Here, these are for you.....you need to read all of them". I have lost my her but I will never forget her and love her always.
