Dear Alpana, wanted to share our deepest condolences. Saddened to hear of your Mum’s passing. She was an awesome person - great personality and BIG heart! I recall my first few years at CBU … provided meals, was there to check in, was there if I felt sick. Mami was a wonderful person and I’m certain she has a nice place in God’s home above. Hope you guys are finding some peace, strength, and comfort. Focus on the good memories she has left you all with. Good night Ba, we don’t have the words to express our sorrow at your early passing, or to condole Bapa, SangiMasi, AlpanaMasi, Mummy (Ushma), AnkurMama and the rest of the family. I am reminded of a poem that my father Tim read at the funeral of his father Carl: The Dash Poem (By Linda Ellis): I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on the tombstone From the beginning...to the end He noted that first came the date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years For that dash represents all the time That they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them Know what that little line is worth For it matters not, how much we own, The cars...the house...the cash. What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change? I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. My condolences to you all. I met your mum at Sangita’s wedding and she was so kind to me, making me feel so welcome and almost part of the family. Rest in peace Auntie.
