Diana Rigg was an English stage and screen actress. During her life, she played many roles but gained fame especially as Emma Peel in the TV series “The Avengers” (1965-1969) and in her role as Bond girl Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, wife of James Bond, in “On Her Majesty’s secret service"(1969). Diana Rigg played in “Game of thrones” the role of Olenna Tyrell (2013-2017). In 1994 she won the Tony Award for best actress in a play.

One night in 1966 England won the World Cup. That night I was watching Diana Rigg on the RSC stage in Stratford. As a teen fan of hers I thought she was wonderful. Whenever people mention that World Cup win, I think of Diana Rigg. I have been a fan since first seeing her in The Avengers. I admired her greatly.
