Condoleances

Mojisola Akinbobola(Née Kolade)

When we love people who have been part of our lives since childhood, somehow it’s like they will be around us forever. Her departure came as a shock. As a little girl I remember her coming to the house to visit her mother(our grandmother) and my father(her elder brother)with gifts for us kids. I remember when she took me to see a man in red robe with white beard who gave me gifts and I later discovered he was called Father Christmas. She was almost as tall as my dad and would stand tall to look at him eyeball to eyeball no matter what. The entire Kolade family will miss a worthy daughter noted for her love as well as not failing to instill when necessary. I found it hard to be she is no more therefore I could not bring myself to write anything before now.. To daddy Akinboro, my cousins and my family, the Kolades let us bear in mind that she served God and humanity. Even though this is our loss, it is heaven’s gain, let us take solace in this. May her soul find eternal rest with the lord amen.

I have always known her to be tall, bold and beautiful, walking elegantly down the streets whenever she came to Ebute to see my dad. She always reminds me of my dad even in her speech. Heaven has gain you ma and we know we shall meet at the feet of Jesus at the end of time. Sleep well our big mummy.

Mama looked exactly like my mum. She reminded me of my mum whenever I was with her. Her Son Ola is my friend but she treated me like her son too. Caring woman with the heart of Gold. She will be sorely missed. Adieu...Rest in Peace.
