Marc Melhuish David you were the first person I chatted to on Manchester

So sorry to lose our friend David of over fifty years. What a lovely man who was warm, full of wit and a true gent. He doted on his lovely family and Vera was definitely his rock. We had so many happy times with David and Vee here in Wales, Bury and La Torre..David was a total ‘Motörhead’ and could easily have fronted ‘Top Gear’. Some of his wheels were legendary, he was one of the first to have a ‘Rangie’ and also a mobile phone that was bigger than a brick!! His culinary tastes were also legendary, he loved ‘thousand island dressing’, Aioli and a very rare ‘de bleu’ steak. We shall miss him with all our hearts and only wish that we could be with Vera now to comfort her. Those angels will now be smiling more than they have ever done before. We have been holidaying in La Torre for about eleven years now, on one of our early visits, I was stuck to get my boarding passes printed, I posted on the FB page looking for help, and it came from David Stringer. We met at the spar, David on his scooter, it was then in our conversation I discovered David was also a Freemason. That was the start of many years of David’s dry humour, great advice and regular “Look in the Files”. We last met two years ago, down at the Friday night market, we had a quick chat over some local ale that was for sale on a market stall. Rest in peace David, you will be missed by all, La Torre won’t be the same without you. Our condolences to Vera and David’s family and friends. Ray & Samantha Drogheda Ireland
