Just came across this page. Robin and I were so fond of Dave and had the pleasure of renting his house in Tarifa for 6 months whilst he was in France. We had a wonderful time. We played host to Dave a couple of times in Scotland. Very much missed xx

I have just found this site and would like to pay my respects to Dave, I met Dave in London thought my sister Gene, prior to his move to Tarifa and we helped him sort out the flat in Kilburn or should I say West Hampstead. I was in Tarifa the Christmas he moved and we went over to Tangier and loe and behold who did we bump into but Dave, he kindly took us on a tour of Tangier and the surrounding areas. He did the same thing the next time we went to Tarifa, what a tour guide he was, speeding up the mountains in his little car. The Flamenco concert he organised in Tarifa castle, I still have the handouts somewhere. He came to stay in Queens Park London for a while I think in the summer of 2016 or 17 and kindly painted the bedroom to help me out. He stories were so entertaining and his passing was a shock to me.. Thinking of you with love Dave. xxx

I have to say that I was a bit of a mess for a couple of days upon hearing of DD's passing . . At least u did get a message to him thanking him for all his help with navigating us naive Faulkners through the labyrinth of Spanish Burocracy . . . In fact in those early days Dave was being taken out every day by some young woman who needed her paperwork putting in order . He was an annoying bugger at times but those times were few and the times of laughter were many . Love you Dave your gonna be missed x

Good bye dear Dave..I'll always remember him as warm, loyal and kind, full of interesting stories and very funny. A great memory for me is when he organised the Flamenco festival in the Castle of Guzman el Bueno in Tarifa in about 2005. It was a huge undertaking to put on a series of concerts by well known artists in that beautiful setting, and he was justifiably very proud and happy that it was such a success.

I’m so very very sorry about our amazing friend Dave, personally he was my absolute shining star in Tarifa, and always since I hope you are peace, particularly in a beautiful vintage car, which we chatted constantly about! I’ll never forget Christmas Day in my apartment above La Cueva! Bye bye mi amigo xx
