As a family of Scouts, we are united in sorrow for the loss of our Patron, HM The Queen. She leaves a bright legacy of hope and promise for future generations. Together, we will honour her memory. We will remember her and give thanks for her kindness, her service, and the unwavering support she showed our movement over many decades. She was truly a friend to Scouts everywhere.

The sad loss of the late, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, patron to Scouts and over 600 other charities, military associations, professional bodies, and public service organisations. 70 years of her life was spent serving others and was a reminder of the importance of Service to others. Voluntary service blesses the soul in ways that only those who truly serve will reap the benefits and I hope we can all do our bit to benefit others - Ameen.

Sincere condolences at this sad time following the passing of the Queen and the Patron of Scouting. She dedicated herself to the country and commonwealth and was a role model for everyone young and old. All of us at the 17th Purley Scout Group take comfort in the knowledge she is now at peace with her husband Philip and we offer our best wishes to King Charles III, her son as he ascends to the throne.

The Queen was the one constant 'rock' that this country had, especially in difficult times. She always had well-chosen words of comfort to the nation when needed. She was our greatest diplomat with a whole lifetime of experience - way better than any of the politicians who served under her. We can all learn from the example that she set for us. She will be sorely missed by all of us in the UK and in Scouting. I, for one, was proud to renew my promise each year to do my duty to the Queen. My condolences to all her family for theirs's and the nation's sad loss.

She was a very special lady and will be long remembered for jumping out of a helicopter with James Bond and having tea with Paddington Bear.
