Our brother, Christopher Hurley, died in an unfortunate accident last week. We are emotionally overwhelmed by the love and support our family is receiving from people who knew Chris. Far too many well-wishers to name individually, please feel assured we are incredibly grateful. We will be having a remembrance and celebration of his life at The Prince Albert Hotel at 4pm this Thursday, 28th September 2023. Goodbye Chris. You were always so good to me. Our trip to Cork to see the old homestead. Sitting on a deckchair in our garden in Walkinstown or at our table in Clonsilla. An inspirational, cultured man. I so glad I spoke with you a few months back. I'm glad we connected again, especially since now you are gone. Safe travels, cuz.

Very sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I have a fond memories of Chris, even managing to have a chance encounter getting on a bus in Dublin. May his memory be a comfort to everyone who knew him at this sad time. David (Miriam Hurley's son).

So shocked to hear about Chris. I would have come to Nelson if I had known earlier. I met Chris at this very pub in 1974 when I was living up the Maitai. He was a life long mate who I will miss terribly. When ever he was in Dunedin he always made a point to find me and we had great catch ups. He once even took a taxi to the Portobello pub, a 30 minute ride at great expense- luckily I was there. I am just so sad that I cannot make it there in time. Jon Waite
