Chris was a well-loved ambulance worker who helped many patients over the years. He was a dedicated GMB Union Activist and Branch Secretary who helped thousands of members, selflessly. Chris was a loving father to two young boys and will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and those he has helped. There is also a collection to help Chris's family with costs. I called Chris many years ago as after election as a new rep I needed to meet with him to complete his IST, he said to meet him at 8am but not at his workplace but his home to my surprise. When I arrived he asked if I would like a full English breakfast I declined as felt embarrassed so said a cup of tea would be great, he said I’ve not walked to my local butchers to buy these sausages for nothing your having a fry up and what an amazing fry up we had Although he made me cook the fried eggs. Eventually we sat to complete his IST and I remember asking why he wanted to be a rep for his members, his quick straight answer was because I want to give them fuckers a kicking. I spent 4 hours with Chris that morning and new he’s gonna be an amazing rep with a smile on my face whilst on my next journey. I must say that was obviously the best IST ever but no just because of the wonderful sausages but meeting a wonderful person RIP dear Chris

I had the pleasure to first meet Chris when we attended various GMB Rep’ training courses back in 2015/16 and we became firm friends with many laughs along the way. Chris was always very supportive & kind to those around him and was a great person & Trade Unionist, he was passionate about his role within the ambulance service and as a GMB Branch Secretary. My Branch & I are extremely saddened to hear the news of his passing & Chris will be greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family & close friends and my sincerest condolences go out to them at this difficult time. Chris, you will always be remembered and have touched the hearts of many without even knowing.
