I remember Mr. Catalin Dobre very well. He was a very positive and amazing in Person. However, I am truly heart broken to hear these devastating news....My heart felt condolences to all, especially to his family. Peace be with you.

Cata was more than just a teacher to me. He was like a mentor. I remember how I struggled to find something to put on my personal statement for applying for mechanical engineering, so I seeked his help. He helped me build a sterling engine and I wasn't even one of his students. I never took DT but yet he opened his arms to me and allowed me to work next to him. My fondest memories with him was working alone with him in the DT room. While he was working on the "F1 in schools" project I was drilling holes in pipes for the innovation hub cars. We played rock and roll in the background while working and just chatted about anything. We always joked that we will go drink a beer together and I was really hoping for it. At that time I was underage and didn't drink. Since I left BSB in 2017 my goal was to come and visit him and have a few rounds of beer. Now that won't be possible and that just makes me feel numb and I feel like I can't breathe. In another life I hope our paths cross again. Rest in peace Cata.

Catalin was a highly intelligent man with a massive amount of knowledge, second to none I have met, and a willingness to help wherever help was needed. When I was in year 12 and 13 I took part in F1 In Schools and it was only down to him that we managed to have a working car. He spent countless hours helping me with the design and testing of everything, all the while, telling me stories of his various adventures and explaining scientific concepts. After leaving BSB, whenever I would visit I would always make sure to see him and chat until he would let me leave. He cared immensely about everyone and always helped wherever he could and that is how I will remember him. The world has lost a great person and it's very upsetting to know I'll never see him again. My condolences to his friends and family and all those who knew him.
