It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest colleague, friend and sister, Carolyne Khadunyi Masheti, on 1st November 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya. A national of Kenya, Carolyne joined UNICEF Kenya on 16 September 1998 as a Logistics Assistant. She rose through the ranks to become a Supply Chain Specialist for the Nairobi Somalia Desk. In May 2022, she joined the Ghana Country Office as a Supply and Procurement Manager. Carolyne was a shining star for UNICEF and the Supply Community, working tirelessly to reach children with lifesaving supplies. She was a very committed colleague, with positive energy and a friendly attitude. Carolyn was gentle, soft-spoken, resourceful and solution-oriented. She was also an inspiring female leader, with an empowering and inclusive management style. Colleagues and friends loved her warm personality.

You came with lots of positive energy and at a time the office was going through restructuring towards a new Country programme. You offered willingly to assist colleagues who may be affected in CV writing. We sat together and drew a plan to execute same. You informed me on your travel back home and when you return we start executing our laid down plans. Have been waiting for your return Carolyn. The news of your sudden demise hit me so hard that i'm yet to overcome the shock. Your coming to Ghana was just a short period where you had barely settled but you touched the many hearts you came in contact with during those brief periods. Your passing is a great lose to me and GCO as a whole. Though you are gone, your memory will continue to live and live in our hearts. God be with you and give you the resting place that one day we'll all meet and smile again. R. I. P.
