Colin Plant

Oh what a shock for us. We searched for Colin for years on social media and never found him ….he was probably too modest for such platforms. We were great friends through school and our teen years and into our early twenties. Colin was always someone it was so good to be with and we shared some very wonderful times. Sleep well, Colin , we will always remember you with such love and fondness

As a contractor to St Stepens school I have only just heard that sad news of Colin's Passing. I will always remember his kindness and support when working with him. It was a true pleasure to have known him since I started visiting the school from 2005. I will miss our conversation and his hospitality which always involved a nice cup of tea with him.

Mr P, what are you doing leaving us, when we need you most. You always had time for us all and you would just dropped everything if we needed you. For all you did for me and couple of years aqgo. You always helped when I needed a sound board with what the government where doing with the disabled. Anyway Mr Plant it was a pleasure and until the next time I will say see you soon big fella x

Dear Colin, always so kind, quiet, patient and clever. Whatever the challenge presented you, you would find a way to respond--even if involved car mechanics! You are in the hearts and minds of hundreds of us as you were a very special person. Thank you.

He was such a helpful person in my school, always helping everyone out whenever he could. All the time, us Year 6s would accidentally throw a tennis ball over the fence and he'd always be willing to get it for us. thank you Xx

So hard to know where to start. Colin was quite simply the backbone of the school - the unassuming superhero who never failed to save the day. St Stephen’s very own M to 007. No matter the problem, a delve into the depths of the no-go area that was his man-cave and normal service would resume with his trademark wry smile and a twinkle in his eye. The solution was never in doubt! But more than that he was a true gent - a kind, caring, clever all-round top man who will be tremendously missed. Sending love and sympathy to all his loved ones. What a gentleman, in the truest sense of the word. We will miss Colin at St Stephen's hugely - always happy to stop what he was doing and help anyone at any time. Such a kind and generous heart - one in a million. It was a pleasure to know him.
